Les Arts Décoratifs is celebrating two of fashion’s greatest in March with the opening of the much anticipated Louis Vuitton – Marc Jacobs Exhibition.
Focusing on the history of contemporary fashion, Louis Vuitton – Marc Jacobs is a story of two personalities (Louis Vuitton, Founder of the house of Louis Vuitton in 1854 and Marc Jacobs, its Artistic Director since 1997) and their contributions to the world of fashion.
Expect to see how cultural codes and trends have helped shape fashion, with an in-depth look at two influential periods: early nineteenth century industrialisation and twenty-first century globalisation. Spread over 2 floors, you will find a stunning collection of the Louis Vuitton vintage trunks, 19th century dolls and one of the most fantastic examples of a travel bed that we have ever seen. Moving into the 21st Century you will be treated to a smart selection of some of Marc Jacob’s most emblematic designs.
A most fantastic example of French craftsmanship & artistic collaboration, the exhibition runs from the 9th March – 16th September 2012 at Les Arts Décoratifs, Paris.
We cannot wait!
